I opened Optimum Personal Training in 2002 to combine my love of fitness with my passion for helping others live healthy lifestyles. Over the years, I balanced my love for fitness with my work as a teacher and an administrator. My journey has led me back to my passion and to Optimum Personal Training full-time once again.

Optimum Personal Training is a, privately owned business that prioritizes enhancing mental and physical well-being via a holistic, personalized approach. My services are available either in the comfort of your home or at my studio in Mystic, CT

About Heather

Founder & Trainer

My earliest memory of my health and fitness journey was sitting on the steps of my back porch, lacing up my sneakers, and preparing to go on a jog with my father. I was 10 years old. My passion for fitness continued and evolved into high school sports, competitive bodybuilding, marathons, and CrossFit competitions.
 

Fitness, nutrition, and wellness have been an integral part of my life for over 40 years and have molded me into the person that I am today. I struggled with disordered eating when I was in college and found solace in competitive bodybuilding. The sport showed me how monumental of an impact fitness and nutrition could have on my emotional well-being. 

 

Over the last few years, I’ve embraced more of an integrative approach to health and wellness that is more than just what I eat and how I move my body. I’ve taken a greater interest in how things like work-life balance, stress management, and recovery have an impact on both my physical and emotional health. The journey in this space has inspired me to help others not only develop their own definition of “health,” but also follow through with a plan that cultivates soundness and balance in both mind and body.

What I do

I have dedicated my life to helping people achieve their fitness, nutrition, and lifestyle goals through scientifically-based programming. I use an integrative approach to assess the needs of my clients and explore opportunities for movement, better nutrition, mental and emotional well-being, and recovery and regeneration. I also collaborate with the client to create a realistic plan to achieve their goals. 

 

As a trainer and coach, I offer ongoing support and communication to my clients through phone, text, email or Zoom, ensuring accessibility and convenience for their wellness journey.

 

As a lifelong learner, I stay up-to-date on what’s happening in the fitness industry and how I can utilize it to help my clients reach their goals. Outside of equipping my clients with the information and skills they need to achieve their health and well-being goals, I strive to build relationships with my clients and create a comfortable, welcoming environment.
